Overview

What Is TEF Canada?

TEF Canada (Test d'Évaluation de Français) is a French language proficiency test developed by the Paris Chamber of Commerce (CCIP) and approved by IRCC for all Canadian immigration streams. It is one of only two French tests accepted for Express Entry, Quebec immigration, and Provincial Nominee Programs.

Your results are reported as Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels — the official scale used by the Canadian government. The higher your CLB, the more CRS bonus points you receive in your Express Entry profile.
